There are no known outages at this time
Contractors expect to finish sewer project work on Nantucket Road for this phase of the project by Friday, June 6. Interruptions of water service are possible, but not anticipated for 6/4/25. Contractors are scheduled to shift work to Pointes Drive East beginning the week of June 9.
6/3/25 Water Outage on Cutty Sark Road & Part of Nantucket Road
UPDATE 3:00 PM: Water service was restored. No interruptions of service anticipated for tomorrow.
Water service had to be shut off at the RV Access Road to alleviate pressure on service lines while sewer work is being performed. Contractors hope to complete work by 3:00 pm. Service will be restored before workers leave for the work day.
Daytime Road Closures on Lower Nantucket and Cutty Sark: Week of June 2 - 6
Lower Nantucket and Cutty Sark roads will be closed to non-emergency traffic throughout the entire work day (approximately 8 am - 6 pm) on Monday, June 2 through Friday, June 6. This will allow construction workers to complete the sewer work in that area expeditiously. The roads will be reopened each evening for vehicle traffic. Thank you for your patience.
Update 5:00 pm, water service restored.
Water Service for residences beyond the RV access road, which includes Cutty-Sark and most of Nantucket roads, was shut off at 10:00 am to relieve pressure in water mains as a precaution while contractors continue sewer project work. Once it is safe to do so, service will be restored. Service will be restored before workers leave for the day.
If you have any questions, please direct them to Jeff, the General Manager. We appreciate your patience as we continue moving forward. The good news is that the bulk of the work on Nantucket will soon be completed.
UPDATE 12:00 Noon: Repair work was completed and water service to Promontory Road and the HPMA Marina was restored around Noon.
Operators need to replace a water service line on Promontory Road tomorrow and service to Promontory Road and the Marina will need to be shut off in order to perform the repairs. Service is scheduled to be shut off at 9:00 am. Repairs are expected to take no more than three hours, but could take longer depending on the nature of underground repair work. Service will be restored before operators finish work for the day. Service will be restored earlier, if possible.
Please note that after water pressure is restored after an outage, the water may be discolored. The water is not harmful and you may need to run water from a sink or tub faucet until it flushes enough water to run clear again.
Please consider preparing for utility outages. Disruptions in water service can be inconvenient, but having plenty of water in backup supply can make disruptions much easier to endure. The CDC recommends keeping a three-day supply for your household. Read more from the CDC:

During outages, you can pour water from a bucket directly into a toilet bowl to trigger a flush.
Thank you very much for your patience and cooperation!
Update: Water service was restored at 5:45 pm. No outages are anticipated tomorrow, 5/20/25.

UPDATE: Water service restored at 4:30 pm. Outage planned for Monday, May 19, 2025 at 8:30 am for the work day, but will restore service earlier if work in the affected area is completed as anticipated. Refer to details below on the issues being addressed as well as tips for managing through utility outages.
Contractors need water service shut off again today, 5/16/25, beginning at 8:00 am for an undetermined length of time, potentially most of the day, in order to prevent further damage to vulnerable infrastructure while contractors work in the affected area, but service will be restored before contractors finish work for the day.
As emergency conditions like this continue, work hours will be extended beyond normal working hours if needed, which is protocol any responsible utility would follow as a measure to restore service.
During outages, you can pour water from a bucket directly into a toilet bowl to trigger a flush. Please consider having water set aside in advance for emergency outages.
This outage affects the entire Pointe, including all HPMA facilities.
Updates will be posted on this website as they are known.

4:46 PM UPDATE: Water service is in the process of being restored to the entire system for the rest of day.

2:35 PM UPDATE: Two leaks were discovered causing today's issues, one of which was unrelated to the ongoing sewer project and was growing for many months undiscovered (see photographed fitting). The leak due to the fitting has been repaired and now contractors are working to address the second leak. Unfortunately, this emergency circumstance is going to continue with an estimated restoration of service between 4:00 pm and 5:00 pm.
Another serious leak from a water main on Nantucket is forcing crews to shut off water to the entire Pointe community. We know this is frustrating and inconvenient for the community and crews alike. Pressure to the affected main is causing the pipe to deteriorate second by second, so that pressure must be relieved to prevent the leak from becoming even worse. Updates will be posted to the website at www.hpwsd.org as they are known. We again ask for your patience as crews do their best to work safely with the old infrastructure.
An estimated time of restoration of service is not known, but based on the current assessment, crews do not anticipate this repair will last all day as it did yesterday.
As this is a Pointe-wide water outage, so HPMA facilities including the Marina are also without water service.
Please note that after water pressure is restored after an outage, the water may be discolored. The water is not harmful and you may need to run water from a sink or tub faucet until it flushes enough water to run clear again.

Updated 6:25 pm
6:25 PM UPDATE: Water service was restored at around 6:25 pm. Unfortunately, due to the fragility of the infrastructure, water will likely be shut off tomorrow, 5/15/25, despite attempts today to mitigate that possibility. An email to our subscribers will be sent in the morning at least thirty minutes prior to water shut off with more information and updates will continue to be posted on the website.
4:15 PM UPDATE: Water service is best estimated to be restored to the Pointe at 5:30 or 6:00 pm, with the goal of avoiding disruption of service tomorrow, Thursday 5/15/25. Due to potential unforeseen circumstances, it is not 100% that a disruption might be necessary tomorrow, but the current assessment is that water service should return to normal operations after today's work is completed.
Please note that after water pressure is restored after an outage, the water may be discolored. The water is not harmful and you may need to run water from a sink or tub faucet until it flushes enough water to run clear again.
The water main will need to be shut off again for most of the day on 5/14/25, at 10:00 am, in order to perform preventative maintenance to the affected infrastructure. There is also potential for a need to shut off water on Thursday, 5/15/25, at 10:00 am. Updates will be posted here as they are known.
Updated 3:38 pm
3:38 PM UPDATE: Water service is restored to the Pointe. Please note that after water pressure is restored after an outage, the water may be discolored. The water is not harmful and you may need to run water from a sink or tub faucet until it flushes enough water to run clear again.
2:40 PM UPDATE: Parts arrived for repairs and crews are working to repair the water main and hope to have service restored within an hour. The water main will need to be shut off again for most of the day tomorrow, 5/14/25, at 10:00 am, in order to perform preventative maintenance to the affected infrastructure. There is also potential for a need to shut off water the following day, 5/15/25, at 10:00 am. Updates will be posted here as they are known.
1:15 PM UPDATE: Parts are being procured for the necessary repairs, which will delay the repair work by an additional 90 minutes. Earliest possible restoration of water service is 3:00 pm.
An emergency shut off of water to the entire Pointe must take place and will occur at 11:30. A leak on the RV road requires that the main is relieved of pressure for repairs to be possible.
Repairs are not expected to take longer than two hours, but due to the nature of the situation, an estimated time of restored service is not known, but it will be restored by the end of the day.
Updates will be posted on this page as they are known.
Thank you for your patience as operators and contractors work to swiftly and safely restore service.
